James 1:23-24

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.

24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.

It is dangerous this morning to hear the word.

It is dangerous to not respond to the word of God with action.

Could it be that you suffer, and the church suffers, from deep, deep amnesia about who we are?

1 Corinthians 3:16

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 6:2-3, 15, 19

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never!

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

Paul wrote with confused wondering about the saints acting the way that they were acting.

His conclusion was - they must not know who they are!

Beloved, do you know who you are?

Beloved are you acting on and moving out in the clear cut word of God in your life?

The church full of amnesia patients does not manifest or bring the kingdom.

The success of the kingdom depends upon you knowing who you are and responding to the Word of God in action.
