Prayer is so vital and so powerful there are significant consequences connected to the doing or the neglecting of it. There is no personal, city, national or global wall of protection or mediation of breakthrough without a life and ministry of prayer.

While in Asia in April I heard/sensed in my spirit the Holy Spirit say that there are global consequences for what we do with prayer in Kansas.

Prayer is literally personal communication between God & man.

Prayer is the primary activity in man’s relationship (intimacy and worship) and partnership (work & mission) with the Lord.

Two primary purposes for prayer:

1. Prayer is the word that describes man’s spiritual relationship with the Lord.

2. Prayer is the word that describes man’s spiritual mission on earth with the Lord.

Where there is no prayer - there is no real Christian or Christianity.

Because prayer is so vital and so powerful there are significant consequences connected to the doing or the neglecting of it.

1. Personal Consequence

Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Philippians 4:6-7

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2. Marriage Consequence

1 Peter 3:7

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

“The divorce rate is the same in the church as in the world. But the divorce rate for couples who pray together is 1 out of 1,156."

3. Missional/Souls Consequence

Matthew 9:37-38

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

4. Revival Consequence

Every major revival from the day of Pentecost to now was birthed by fervent, sacrificial, and faithful prayer.

5. National Consequence

Psalm 106:23

Therefore he said he would destroy them—had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them.

6. End Times Consequence

Revelation 8:2-5

Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, 4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. 5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

7. Global Consequence

Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Ezekiel 22:30

And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

1. Build up a Wall - protection and defense

2. Stand in the Breach/Gap - mediating mercy and breakthrough

There is no personal, city, national or global wall of protection or mediation of breakthrough without a life and ministry of prayer.

Zechariah 3:1-7 (ESV)

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” 3 Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. 4 And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” 5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by. 6 And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua, 7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.

Zechariah 3:7 (Amplified)

Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in My ways and keep My charge, then also you shall rule My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you access [to My presence] and places to walk among these who stand here.

Knowing that I am responsible for this in the spirit I proclaim that we are called in a “general” way to a ministry of prayer but I can also say prophetically that we are specifically called to a unique ministry of prayer which has global consequences.
