“ONE ANOTHER” passages used 100 times in 94 verses in the New Testament

One third of the “One Another” commands specifically deal with the church getting along.

Bear with one another in love

Ephesians 4:2

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

If one has a complaint against another, forgive each other

Colossians 3:13

bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers.

James 4:11

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

One-third of these commands specifically instruct Christians to LOVE One Another.

Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Love one another with brotherly affection

Romans 12:10

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Through love serve one another.

Galatians 5:13

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

15% specifically stress an attitude of Humility towards One Another

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Ephesians 5:21

submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

In humility count others more significant than yourselves

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another

1 Peter 5:5

Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

1) God's Glory

2) Our Health

3) Rapid Growth

Ephesians 4:15-16

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

4) Kingdom Outbreak

Acts 2:42-47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Acts 4:32-35

Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 34 There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35 and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

Acts 5:14, 28

And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

28 saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us.”

1 Peter 4:8-11

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

How Do We Love One Another?

1) Be Hospitable

2) Use Your Gifts
