An equipping ministry to Disciple the Church.
A mission base to Send the Church.
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” 34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” 35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
More often than not “the possible” determines the parameters of our faith.
We do the math, think things out, and then determine what is “possible”.
Mary conceives and births Jesus in the context of “THE IMPOSSIBLE”.
1. With no help or effort of man she will impossibly be with child.
2. Though young, poor, and unknown she receives the impossible news that she is FAVORED of God.
3. The unique baby in her is impossibly a God/man whose kingdom will rule eternally everywhere.
In many ways we are all like Mary.
1. We are barren and 100% incapable of having Christ in us.
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
2. We have no qualification that would merit our receiving the label FAVORED ONE.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
3. And we are wholly unable to be the carriers of the presence of the King and His kingdom resulting in his rule manifesting everywhere.
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
How is the impossible possible in our lives?
And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.
The Holy Spirit working in line with the Word of God is what manifests the impossible.
What is asked of us if the Holy Spirit and the Word do all of the supernatural work?
And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
The Womb of Faith is the atmosphere wherein the Spirit and the Word accomplish the impossible!
