An equipping ministry to Disciple the Church.
A mission base to Send the Church.
Jon Smith teaches how everything we are and do stems from what we think and believe in our minds and how that before any external victory can be had the internal battle must be won!
2 Corinthians 10:3
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
Determining the battleground is essential for successful warfare!
2 Corinthians 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.
The location of a weapon determines its effectiveness.
God never gives us divine power outside of Himself.
Purpose of the weapon: Pulling down strongholds.
Kathairesis: Destruction, demolition, or extinction.
Ochuroma: castle, stronghold, or fortress. A place fortified for safety.
Strongholds were built to protect places of occupation. They were primarily used for defensive purposes but also offensively for the shooting of arrows.
2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
Kathaireo: Violently destroy!
Logismos: Computation or reasoning. Calculation or assessment. Conclusion
Hupsoma: Elevated place or structure. High thing.
Every opposing view that elevates itself above and sets itself against the knowledge of God.
Where do we perceive knowledge?
The battle is not external but internal and the ground being fought for is in your mind!
Everything we are and do stems from what we think and believe in our minds.
(Our thinking forms the basis of our doing)
Long before any external victory can be had the internal battle must be won!
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Conformity happens first in your mind and the same is true of transformation!
These opposing views have strongholds in our minds and are setting themselves up against the knowledge of God.
Gnosis: Facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; Awareness or familiarity gained by experience.
You gain knowledge about people by being around them and by being around people who know them.
Like it or not our knowledge influences how we regard and relate to a person.
Why is this knowledge under assault? Because your knowledge leads to knowing and your knowing leads to becoming.
2 Corinthians 3:16-18
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The more we know about Him the more we know Him. The more we get to know Him the more we want to be with Him. The more we want to be with Him the more we become like Him!!!
The enemy has erected fortresses in our minds that primarily target knowing Him and inversely knowing ourselves!
2 Corinthians 10:5
Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
The concept of bringing into captivity denotes action and is expressed in a verb. It’s not a passive thing or something that the Lord does for you.
Captive to what? To the complete submission to Christ.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.
The enemy is not just targeting and maligning the Christ but is trying to discredit all that He has said about the Kingdom and about us!
The enemy’s weapons are flaming arrows (lies) that are targeted at the mind!
Their tongue is an arrow shot out; It speaks deceit;
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
Lies are birthed from the kingdom of darkness to deceive you into believing less of yourself and less of our God!
Lies are designed to manipulate and deceive through feelings, experience, and circumstances.
We are not walking in the fullness of our purpose and our identity because of these lies!
