An equipping ministry to Disciple the Church.
A mission base to Send the Church.
Matthew 3:1 (ESV)
1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 4:17 (ESV)
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 6:10 (ESV)
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus spoke of heaven around 120 times.
“heaven “in Greek is “ouranos”
the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings
The Gospel, or good news, that Jesus preached was really that the Kingdom (dynamic rule) of the heavens was at hand or drawing near in the earth.
How was the Kingdom of Heaven drawing near? In the manifest presence and ministry of the King of the Kingdom among them on earth.
Jesus was not trying to reform Judaism or to start a new religion called Christianity.
Jesus was fulfilling and manifesting the prophetic hope of Judaism which was that a Messiah would be born of a virgin, minister deliverance and healing, suffer for His people, raise from the dead, and usher the earth into the “Millennial Kingdom”.
Everything Jesus did and said was motivated by His Father in heaven who was by the Spirit through the Son invading the earth with the dynamic rule of heaven.
In heaven there is no demon possession, sickness, hunger, sin, hate, or death, so Jesus delivered, healed, was righteous, fed, loved, and raised from the dead.
As Jesus continued His ministry we can tell that He is raising up men to do the exact same ministry:
1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before Him into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.
Not only was He releasing power but He brought the “righteousness" of the Kingdom of Heaven.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Jesus was also manifesting the ruling culture of Heaven upon the earth which is LOVE.
34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Biblically our focus should not be upon just making the earth “better” but rather upon making, by the Spirit of God, heaven birthed and manifesting disciples in all nations for the glory and inheritance of Jesus.
