The Rod of Moses was a major instrument used in the deliverance, provision. and victory of the people of God.  Sam shares how the "what is that in your hand" represents our station in life or occupation and how God's presence works in us right where we are.

Exodus 3:19-20 (ESV)
19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand.
20 So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go.

Exodus 4:1-2 (NKJV)
1 Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’”
2 So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”
He said, “A rod.”

The Rod of Moses was a major instrument used in the deliverance, provision, and victory of the people of God.

Through it signs were performed, plagues were released on the enemy, a sea was split for deliverance, and battles won over Nations.

It is very significant that it is mentioned being placed in the Ark of the Covenant with the Ten Commandments and Jar of Manna.

Hebrews 9:3-4 (NKJV)
3 and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All,
4 which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

The Ark of the Covenant of Presence of God contains:
1 - The dynamic of supernatural purity - tablets of commandments
2 - The dynamic of supernatural provision - jar of manna
3 - The dynamic of supernatural priesthood - rod that budded

The crucified and resurrected Christ is the “Ark of the New Covenant” within which we receive these three dynamics by faith in the Holy Spirit’s Presence.

The origin of the three speaks powerfully to us:

  1. Origin of the tablets was in a fiery mountain and given in the midst of a supernatural fast.
  2. Origin of the manna was bread falling from heaven.
  3. Origin of the rod was an “exiled” shepherd finding a branch on the back side of the desert.

What is that in your hand??

There are two revelations that I want to emphasize in order to Equip you in the “priestly dynamic” that is yours in Christ:
1) “What is that in your hand” represents your occupation or station in life.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV)
31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

2) You are a “Royal Priest” vested with tremendous authority and access.
1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Exodus 17:9-13 (NKJV)
9 And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”
10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
