Discipline and endurance for child training are fueled by a biblical vision of the blessing of raising children.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
This is a faith-Spirit led partnership.
Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)
1 Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Blessing #1 is for the parents
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
We begin with the conviction that children are a blessing and reward from the Lord.
It is vital to have a heart-level vision that the arduous task of daily raising children is a privilege not a duty.
Blessing #2 is for the children
Ephesians 6:1-3 (NKJV)
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),
3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.
We all want our children blessed.
The scriptures tell us that blessing can be secured for the child that learns to obey their parents.
Pray for a vision for the double-blessing of training your children up in the Lord.
Isaiah 64:4 (NKJV)
4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.
