An equipping ministry to Disciple the Church.
A mission base to Send the Church.
The Lord is raising up a Prophetic Generation leading to restoration in advance of the coming of Christ. Sam shares from Zechariah 3 and 4 where prophetic words stir up Joshua’s heavenly ministry and Zerubbabel’s earthly mission. In the same way, we are called to activate the ministries the Lord has laid before each of us.
Ezra 4:24 (NIV)
24 Thus the work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
Ezra 5:1-2 (NIV)
1 Now Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the prophet, a descendant of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them.
2 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.
Ezra 6:14-15 (NIV)
14 So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preaching of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo. They finished building the temple according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia.
15 The temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.
The Lord is raising up a Prophetic Generation that leads to completion of the Restoration that will proceed the coming of Christ.
Acts 3:21 (NIV)
21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
In Ezra the Lord raises up Haggai and Zechariah to prophesy in order to activate the "two olive trees” - Zerubbabel and Joshua the High Priest and all of God’s people.
Specifically Zechariah speaks to these two leaders in Zechariah 3 & 4.
1. Joshua the High Priest represents the priestly heavily ministry of the Lord’s people.
2. Zerubbabel represents the earthly ministry of the Lord’s people.
Prophetic Words that stir up the Joshua heavenly ministry in Zechariah 3 are:
1. The Lord putting an end to the Accusation Ministry of Satan in Joshua’s life-
Zechariah 3:1-2 (NIV)
1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right side to accuse him.
2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
2. The Lord removing the filth and sin.
Zechariah 3:3-4 (NIV)
3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.
4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin,...”
3. The the clothing with the clean.
Zechariah 3:4b-5 (NIV)
4 ...and I will put fine garments on you.”
5 Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.
4. Promise of Obedience and Heavenly Ministry
Zechariah 3:6-7 (NIV)
6 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua:
7 “This is what the LordAlmighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
Prophetic Words that stir up Zerubbabel to execute earthly mission in Zechariah 4:
1. Proclamation that God’s work is accomplished by God’s power alone:
Zechariah 4:1-6 (NIV)
1 Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep.
2 He asked me, “What do you see?”I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lampson it, with seven channels to the lamps.
3 Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”
4 I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”
5 He answered, “Do you not know what these are?”“No, my lord,” I replied.
6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty
2. Promise of power over Mountains:
Zechariah 4:7 (NIV)
7 “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.
3. Promise of Finishing:
Zechariah 4:8-9 (NIV)
8 Then the word of the Lord came to me:
9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
4. Call to not despise small things/beginnings:
Zechariah 4:10 (NIV)
10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lordthat range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
