Notes

John 8:32 (NIV)
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

- What are we set free FROM?
- What are we set free TO?

Set free from: The lie that sin is wrapped around our identity (old nature)
Set free to: Be who we are in Christ (new nature)

Lies are like arrows
- Fly through the air
- Bring fear, wounding, even death
- Designed to "grab & stay" inside you
- Painful to extract
- Unable to heal unless they're removed

"A false statement with deliberate intent to deceive"

2 Corinthians 4:8-11 (NIV)
8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Luke 21:16-18 (NIV)
16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
17 Everyone will hate you because of me.
18 But not a hair of your head will perish.

Hosea 2:15 (NIV)
15 There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.

Psalms 84:5-6 (NIV)
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
